What is your name?

Sophie Madi

What is your role at LB Networks?

Business Analyst

What experience do you bring to your role?

I have been working in software professionally since 2022, with previous roles as a full stack developer and a system administrator.  Additionally, I have three years of experience as a tutor focusing on computer science and math for undergraduate students. I thrive in roles where I get to combine my technical knowledge with my communication skills, making complex problems accessible for others.

What do you consider your expertise?

My primary knowledge base is in the field of computer science, which includes both the skills for my previous software roles and the telecommunications networking that we work with here at LB Networks.

How did you get into this line of work?

Previously working as a system administrator, I wanted something just as technically rigorous but with the opportunity to spend more time with other people. The Business Analyst position at LB Networks stood out as an opportunity to use my technical expertise in a much more social, customer-facing role, and my time here thus far has been a delight.

Where are you from?

St. Louis, MO

Where did you go to school?

Lindenwood University

What do you like most about your work at LB Networks?

Easily my favorite part of my job is the people I get to work with. My coworkers are sharp, engaged, and friendly folk, and getting to build relationships with our customers is incredibly rewarding.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I spend my free time on video game development, improving my skills as a cook, facilitating book clubs, distance running, and writing music!

What is your favorite quote?

“One should […] be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Crack Up, 1936

What is your favorite restaurant?

Balkan Treat Box!

What is your go-to local food or favorite dish?

Choosing a favorite dish is a challenge because I love so many foods, but I have a particular affection for rhubarb spoon cake—imagine a huge pancake with swirls of rhubarb compote served in a cast iron skillet and you’re pretty close.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am the caretaker for a very silly cat named Marzipan! She’s prone to falling off of furniture and drinking my coffee when she thinks I’m not looking, but I love her all the same.
