Based upon client input and close connections with technology and software providers, LB Networks is excited to announce new enhancements to the industry leading vCollector.
These new functions add more technologies to the industry’s leading number of devices supported, plus performance boosts and reports that take advantage of these enhancements.
Here’s what’s new with the 1.9.x release:
- Improved Ciena Netconf Poller support.
- This function enables a per-interface utilization stats from SAOS 10.x using theOpenConfig Interfaces YANG model.
- Nokia NSP improvements that track an authentication token’s expiration time.
- In addition to monitoring the token’s expiration, the vCollector will allow reuse when not previously expired and/or refreshing fails via the Nokia NSP gateway requests.
- Juniper SNMP Poller update.
- The vCollector enables a workaround to resolve a JUNOS issue that prevents polling SOAM statistics collection when the device’s SOAM history statistics table is missing the most recent chronological row.
- We added MRV-based SNMP Direct Retrieval and have documented MRV configuration guidelines in our support documentation.
- Telco Systems SNMP Poller support for Telco devices that don’t broadcast their SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID value if it belongs to the PRVT-SWITCH-MIB::sysProductsOids OID branch.
- MEF-36 SNMP Poller workaround for lexicographic ordering issues with the IEEE8021-CFM-MIB::dot1agCfmMaNetTable exhibited by some Ciena SAOS 6.x devices, fixing collection of MEFCFM session data.
Users can easily access the new vCollector software code through their portal. In less than 10 minutes, you can log in and download and upgrade existing vCollectors.
For additional information, follow the workflow process listed in the portal vCollector documentation (manual) in the Admin Manager of the portal.
