
OcularIP v3.0 Delivers Advanced Capabilities with Mapping, Circuit Discovery and Automated SLA Compliance Reports
COMPTEL Fall 2012, Dallas, TX – October 9, 2012 – Local Backhaul Networks announces the availability of the third major release of OcularIP, the industry’s leading carrier Ethernet SLA monitoring and reporting performance portal. The OcularIP v3.0 release is the most feature-rich version to date and boasts significant innovations to the already powerful platform. These newest features include an automated SLA compliance reporting engine, an innovative Google Map display, additional manufacturer support and a unique circuit discovery capability designed to greatly accelerate the start-up time of service providers with a large number of circuits already in service. OcularIP v3.0 is the latest in a series of product releases that demonstrate Local Backhaul Network’s commitment to its “designed for service providers by service providers” heritage.
First is a pre-defined SLA compliance report that automates the mandatory performance reporting required by master service agreements of every North American Tier 1 wireless operator. The SLA compliance reporting of OcularIP enables subscribers to automate the time-consuming preparation of SLA performance validation reports. OcularIP v3.0 not only automates all the data collection, correlation and display of network performance data on each individual backhaul circuit, it automates the monthly reporting requirement as well. OcularIP liberates service providers from the daunting task of building their own reporting infrastructure, data collection engines, database servers and expensive on-premise management tools and eliminating other costs for building and managing a SLA reporting portal.

The second major new feature in the list of major enhancements is the unique Google Map view for mapping circuits and circuit hierarchies with support for dynamic and area clustering. The clustering support, exclusive to OcularIP, preserves the flexible organization and grouping of circuits that has long been a popular feature with the existing “tree” navigational hierarchies. Raymond Chui, OcularIP Chief Architect explains: “A map display capability was a feature many of our subscribers were interested in. By fully leveraging Google Maps’ advanced clustering feature, we now preserve the ability to flexibly create and display the circuit hierarchies our customers use, with graphical map views.”
Completing the list of customer-driven features is an enhanced graphical user interface, and new auto-discovery for provider’s existing circuits. This feature was developed to assist new subscribers to OcularIP who have already deployed hundreds or thousands of circuits in the network. OcularIP’s automated provisioning “bot” discovers and provisions the existing circuits in a service provider network, avoiding hours of manual provisioning previously required to bring in circuits in order to assure them with OcularIP.
